Zimbabwean defender Patson Jaure put up an incredible performance which helped University of Pretoria hold Kaizer Chiefs to a 1 all draw on Wednesday evenining.

Playing in the left-back position for the first time in his career, University of Pretoria’s Partson Jaure excelled and kept the likes of Kaizer Chiefs’ Siphiwe Tshabalala and Siboniso Gaxa at bay.

It was largely due to Jaure’s efforts that Tuks earned a share of the spoils in their Absa Premiership match against the Amakhosi on Wednesday night which ended 1-1.

Jaure was handed the ‘man of the match’ award for his hard work and was quick to admit it was not an easy night for him.

“I want to thank my family and everyone who supports me,” said Jaure.

“It was not easy, it was my first time as a left-back.

“I have played many positions, centre-back, right-back and against Chiefs I played left-back.

“It was difficult, but I am happy to receive the ‘man of the match’ award.”

Reflecting on the result which sees Tuks up to four points from five league games, Jaure says he was happy to come away with point especially after trailing for so long.

Bernard Parker opened the scoring in the 26th minute before Tebogo Monyai levelled matters in the 71st minute.

“I am very happy with a point,” added Jaure.

“We were losing most of the game and I am very happy with the point.”
