Biggest Banks in Zimbabwe

Barclays Bank

Barclays Bank of Zimbabwe is one of the largest banks in the country and is listed on the Stock exchange. It has many branches in all large centres and has the largest ATM network in the country.

Standard Chartered

Standard Chatered was the first financial institution to be established in Zimbabwe. The bank won Banker Award for Bank of the year in 2005 and a London based African business publication voted the bank into the top 100 banks in Africa.

CBZ Bank

According to the Euro money Awards for Excellence the bank was the 3rd largest in the country by 1998. Zb bank was voted Best Domestic bank in Zimbabwe in 1999 and 2000 when it was still called Zim Bank.

Cabs

CABS is an established and strong brand name in the financial retail market in Zimbabwe. The Society offers a diverse range of financial products and services that includes transaction and savings accounts, mobile banking, mortgage loans, money market investments, term deposits and pay-roll loans.

Zb Bank

Is a large financial provider whose shares are traded on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange.

Stanbic

Stanbic Bank Zimbabwe is part of one of Africa’s leading banking and financial services groups, the Standard Bank Group Limited, which is based in South Africa and listed on the Johannesburg Securities Exchange. Standard Bank Group is the largest African bank by assets and earnings. It operates in 20 countries on the African continent, including Zimbabwe.

Steward Bank

Steward Bank, whose official name is Steward Bank Limited, is a commercial bank in Zimbabwe. It is one of the regulated banking institutions licensed by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, the national banking regulator. The bank is a medium-sized retail bank in Zimbabwe. As of August 2013, the total asset valuation of the bank was about US$128.9 million. In November 2013, the shareholders’ equity was valued at US$76.9 million, making it one of the top five capitalized banks in the country.
