Interview with Cosmo

Where do you inspiration for your films?

I get inspiration from things happening around me and I also get inspiration from fellow artists. I also get inspirtation when I am home in my own space I get ideas jus visiting me lol

How long  have you been making film ?

I have been making film for 10 years now

Out of all the work you have done which one is your most memorable work?

My most memorable was my first major project titled ‘Much To the land of Promises’ which is about migration. It about people walking from Malawi on foot to Zimbabwe. The main character in that film died when he was over 100 years old. He walked from Malawi to Zimbabwe about 4-5 times. He initially in 1923 then 1938. He went back to his country and came back in the 80’s and thats when he decided to stay in Zim. The documentary also touches on capitalism.

What was Cosmo up to in 2014?

2014 I have been a lot of comercial work like filming, weddings, conferences etc. I also did a 1minute documentary which was accepted for a British Enviroment Film Competition out of thousands of proposals my concept was accepted. I am also writing a script for a feature film.

What are your future plans?

I need to take my production company to the next level where we tell stories that are home grown but still can compete on a global level.

What are the highlights of your career this far?

Winning an award in 2013 The Best Zimbabwean Documentary at the Zimbabwean Film Festival, 2013 we did a documentary in Egypt on the historical places in country and the documentary is titled Mystic Place.

What can your fans look forward to in the near future?

I am working on a feature film so my fans can look forward to that. I haven’t been working on narrative so right now I am writing a narrative which I am hoping to film in the near future.

What’s the weirdest thing a fan has ever done to you or said to you?

One fan said, ‘Mfana wakangwarisa be careful uchazoita president Scandanavian country’ of all the places lol
