Island Hospice Service

This welfare organisation was formed to care for those people with life-limiting illness and their families.  The services offered include a home care team of professional nurses and social workers as well as a team of volunteer care givers, a day care centre, a palliative care unit and a bereavement service.

New Start Centre

New Start Centres are located in many areas throughout Zimbabwe.  The centres welcome people for HIV/AIDS testing.  Results are produced during the visit and counseling is available.  The cost to the patient is Z$50.

This parastatal organisation coordinates and implements family planning in Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwe Red Cross

The ZRC seeks to “alleviate human suffering.”  They believe in aiding the socio-economic development of those segments of society that are the most marginalised.  The ZRC runs programmes in small business management and provides assistance to the poor by offering advice on the start-up and operation of small businesses.  The ZRC also has an AIDS education programme.
