10 Things You Didn’t Know About Gilmore Tee Moyo

Gilmore Tee as he’s known is a true philanthropist in the making. A human rights activist, program developer, writer, manager to the stars and all rounder media entrepreneur, at only twenty-six years old, he has traveled the world, met influential people and inspired a change in his community.

Get to know the newly selected radio voice for the new Bulawayo commercial radio station SKYZ Metro FM. Here’s are some of Gilmore achievements you might not know, get inspired.

1. Gilmore has always been involved in the Global Arts and Culture industry since he was only sixteen. He has worked with International establishments like UNESCO and British Council.

2. He has written for many magazines and his first radio gig was with Radio dialogue. Gilmore now co-owns dEck magazine which he says would like to see be as in demand as international magazines GQ and Vogue.

3. He co-founded Change-Zim along with Kudzanai Dube, the brand which helped establish his identity.

4. He was one of the seven young African to attend the Global Youth Summit in the U.K and became involved with British Council’s Global Changemaker Network.

5. In 2010 he set up an art initiative aimed at addressing stereotypes, prejudices and negative perceptions called “Peace of Art”, the project encourages young people to fight against racism, tribalism and social injustice.

6. In 2011 Gilmore attended the International summit in Germany, the following year he was selected as a youth ambassador by UNESCO and went on to facilitate the Euro-Africa Youth Summit held in Belgium.

7. Through his travels across the globe Gilmore has met big names including Nicholas Cage, Emma Thompson, Melinda Gates and Jamie Oliver.

8. Gilmore calls himself a global citizen because he believes that so many parts of the world have made him who he is today.

9. His passion lies in areas of social sustainability and development, youth work, art and culture.

10. In 2013 he was named one of the world’s most influential young people.
