10 Things You Shouldn’t Say On A First Date

Going on a first date can be exciting but nerve wrecking at the same time, the pressure of wanting  the date to go well, so that a second one is guaranteed, then go on a third one fast forward a year later get married have two kids, a boy and a girl and live happily ever after. Hold up, not so fast, this can only happen if the first date goes well.

1. How Much Do You Make?

Asking how much someone makes just makes you look like a gold digger, if that’s really important to you try a subtle approach like asking what they do for a living, then you can calculate yourself when you get home.

2. You Would Really Like My Friend

You can mean it genuinely but mostly the other person will think you are not interested so you want to set them up with your friend instead.

3. How many kids do you want?

Whoa, hold up! Unless you want them to run away, then go ahead. Be patient and stop scaring him/her off.

4. Your Ex

At no point whatsoever is it okay to bring up your ex. It shows you’re still thinking of them and you’re not ready to move on. Don’t talk bad about your ex, it reflects bad on you.

5. Avoid Politics and Religion

Don’t go around asking your date who they vote for or anything religious related. This is always a sensitive territory. Your friends might tell you politics is a cool way of stimulating conversation, NEVER do it.

6. Do You Have A Baby Mama/Baby Daddy?

Do not ask if they have a baby mama or baby daddy on a first date or how crazy the baby’s mamma is. Get to know the person first, you might just lose your soul-mate if you don’t allow things to progress in due time.

7. How Much You Hate Your Job

This will make you look like a lazy, unfocused and unsatisfied person. No one wants to be talking about horrible bosses and how annoying your workmates are on a first date.

8. Stop using the word “Like” Too Much

Please stop using the word “like” every other second. Speak like a grown up. Not everyone will find it cute.

9. You Have A Good Appetite

What?! What are you saying, she eats a lot? Someone will take offense to that.

10. I Think I Love You

It doesn’t matter if you believe in love at first sight, just don’t say it out loud at least not in the first year. This is real life n Romeo and Juliet all you are doing is scaring them off.
