Health Internship Available
Health Intern: Local NGO
A local NGO based in Harare is looking for a health intern who will implement a comprehensive health program which seeks to improve the health and well being of children, care givers and communities.
Responsibilities:
-Work with community health workers, Case Care workers and other community cadres in the identification of HIV positive children
-Support local clinics in Paediatric Care and Treatment
-Ensure that HIV positive children access health services
-Establish and coordinate Children and Adolescent Support Groups for children living with HIV/AIDS
-Coordinating HIV testing and counseling campaigns
-Facilitate the conduct of home visits by Para-professionals to families for children living with HIV who were from PMTCT and paediatric HIV programs
-Offer technical assistance to children and caregivers living with HIV/AIDS
-Coordinate community dialogue on HIV/AIDS issues
-Maintain excellent working relationships with relevant provincial, district and site MoHCC staff and compilation of periodic progress reports
Qualifications:
-Certificate in Nursing, a Diploma in Nursing or health promotion high desirable
-1 year experience in working with communities, previous experience working in an NGO environment an added advantage
