The arts hub which is responsible for breaking out big names in the entertainment industry like Comedians Doc Vikela and Simba the Comic King was also a frequent for artist like Stella Chiweshe, Andy Brown, Chiwoneso Maraire and I the recent years Hope Masike, Amara Borwn and Tehn Diamond.

Tomas said the decision to close down was for him to be able to strategize and restructure the business. “ It was a difficult decision to close the premises but if Book Café is to have any place in the future of Zimbabwe’s arts and culture scene I believe that our current course of action is unavoidable”, he said.

He said he is still confident that Book Café is one of the strongest and respected brands in the country. “I have no intention of letting this be the end of the story for Book Café but in order for us to start writing the next chapter, we have to close the last one, the struggle continues”, said Brickhill.
