Opportunity for Zimbabwean Youth: 2 Law Interns Wanted

An International organization with offices in Harare is looking for two interns to server a 6 month internship program.

Responsibilities:

-participating and contributing in staff meetings, discussions and briefing sessions

-provide support to the organization activities

-research human rights issues

-maintain information databases

-draft papers and reports

-expected to undertake some administration duties in addition to their substantive tasks

The interns should be able to lead in preparation of workshop training materials for different justice, human rights and law based actors.

The interns will have an opportunity to attend lectures and other events related to human rights held in Zimbabwe.

Requirements:

– be a recent graduate from a local university with a law degree/studying law. Preference human rights or International law

-must be highly dedicated to the legal protection and promotion of human rights

-must be well organized and have strong research as well as familiar with internet research, analytical and drafting skills and be able to work independently

-must be computer literate, basic word and excel

-must have spoken and written fluency in English and desirably French or another foreign language

-must be able to work as part of multicultural team and willing to apply themselves in a frequently pressurized environment

*Interns are hired for at least 6 months and a maximum period of 1 year. Internship implies no intent of future employment by the organization.
