Lochnation is not only a well known successful media personality in Zimbabwe, she is also a pioneer for the Arts and Culture industry. Get to know the media powerhouse that is Lochnation as we celebrate her birthday with ten things you didn’t know.

1. King Lo was born Lorraine Charlotte Bgoya. Her parents moved to Zimbabwe from Tanazania a year before she was born.

2. Lorraine, as she prefers to be called, made the name ‘Lochnation’ from the first two letters of her first and middle name and she added nation because that’s what she felt she was creating.

3. She studied business in the United States, came back home where she graduated with a Master’s in Intellectual Property.

4. It has not always been fun for the beautiful radio personalty who suffered physical abuse in the hands of her ex-boyfriend when she was a teenager. She has turned a new leaf with the situation, Lorraine is part of Musasa Project which deals with all forms of trauma experienced by women at the hands of their partners.

5. King Lo is passionate about the arts, music and culture industry and she has traveled the world exploring some of the biggest arts music festivals.

6. Lorraine says her passion is to develop the arts industry so that it can contribute to the Zimbabwean economy using Intellectual property.

7. Lochnation recently added manager to her resume when she was appointed the community manager for the new creative hub, Moto Republik.

8. Lorraine Charlotte is engaged to rapper Tehn Diamond.

9. She is a huge fan of Beyonce, she has attended her concert and it was King Bey who inspired the name ‘King Lo’.

10. Lochnation is not only a DJ, she is also a producer and content creator. Her blog’s success has landed the beauty on several Magazine covers including Jewel Magazine, Induna and Divas Inc.
