Chibuku Competition Winners Lose Prize Money ($4000) To Cornmen

After battling it out and winning the Chibuku Neshamwari Traditional Competition, Makarekare dance group’s celebrations were cut short after losing all the prize money to cornmen before returning home in Goromonzi.

The group leader, Munyaradzi Horita confirmed the news saying he was corned just after withdrawing the money at ZB Bank by men who were asking for directions.

“It happened last Friday. I had just come out of ZB Bank First Street around midday and met some guys who asked me for directions. I think that is where I lost it. I realised that I had lost all the money I had in the bag. I was in possession of $3 954, including my personal $5 note”, said Horita.

Horita has since reported the case at the Central Police Station and it’s being investigated. He also admitted his group has accepted and understood his explanation.
