Knowledge Musona winner sinks Standard Liege
A touch of class saw Zimbabwean international Knowledge Musona score a crucial winner that guided KV Oostende to a 2-1 victory over Standard Liege on Sunday evening.
The warriors forward continued to hog the limelight in the Belgian topflight league after scoring a winner that helped KV Oostende cling to pole position.
Oostende had fallen behind as early as the third minute after Standard Liege midfielder Christian Bruls struck but a 14th minute goal by Joseph Akpala saw the hosts draw level.
With 12 minutes of regulation time remaining Zimbabwean striker Knowledge Musona scored a decisive goal which ensured KV Oostende maintained pole position in the Belgian top flight league. Victory took Oostende to 13 points, three points clear of second placed St. Truiden.
Musona’s goal was his third this campaign after scoring a brace in KV Oostende’s last encounter.
