President Mugabe Sings Praises To Dr Amai With A Little Help From Shakespeare

Young love is cute but there’s something about old good love that glows. We all know President Mugabe is a great politician but who knew he was a hopeless romantic too?! President Mugabe recently sang praises of his wife at her 50th birthday celebrations and we were left swoon by his words to Dr Amai.

The most educated President in the world used Shakespeare’s Antony and Cleopatra story to express his love for the First Lady, “There was this lady named Cleopatra, from very beautiful and from Africa and the Roman commanders admired her,  even Julius Caesar did and after him a guy called Antony”, he said.

The President went to say the words said by Antony to Cleopatra which he thought were fitting for the ageless First Lady, Dr Amai. “Age does not wither her, nor custom stale her infinite variety”, he quoted. “She gives her most, she takes. If you look at my wife you will think she’s 30/35”, gushed President Mugabe.

President Mugabe went on to describe Dr Amai as someone who is not spoilt by those customs which make some wives primitive in the eyes of their husbands. “So age age does not wither her nor custom her stale variety”, he said.

The President also gushed about how hardworking and independent Dr Amai is, “she is a woman with her own mind, when she has made up her mind to do a thing, she will do it. If you say no, she will show you that she can do it”, he said.

“She baffles me, still baffles me! I could never say ‘stop it’, to her, with the exception of politics”, he said of his wife.

Grown love, just beautiful. Now when they ask you where love lives you know where to point. Love lives here, with these two!
