Rumbi Takawira And Evermore Sandati Among 300 ZBC Workers Fired

ZBC has become the latest to join the firing employees wagon sending close to three hundred employees packing.

Over twenty thousand Zimbabweans have lost their jobs since the Supreme Court gave a go ahead to companies to terminate workers’ contracts. The fired ZBC workers were sent packing on Wednesday, amongst them the much loved Rumbi Takawira, Evermore Sandati and business journalist Lennon Mutseura.

The fired employees were told to surrender ZBC identity particulars as soon as they were given the termination letters. One employee said they were even escorted out of the premises by armed security as if they were criminals.

This comes after the ZBC CEO Happison Muchechetere and three other executives were suspended. The ZBC kitchen was shut down.

ZBC also shut down Voices Of Zimbabwe, a Gweru based radio station and Chanel two was technically closed.
