Willard Khumalo dies

Highlanders legend Willard Mashinkila Khumalo has died.

The former Highlanders and Warriors player passed away at a Bulawayo hospital. Mashinkila as Khumalo was affectionately known had been hospitalised since Wednesday after a long battle with diabetes.

The midfield kingpin had great charisma, passion and skill featuring prominently in the days of the dream team which was coached by the late German coach Reinhard Fabisch. Khumalo was also a former Bosso coach and team manager.

He was a total footballer who server the game with pride, passion and great determination. He was one of my most respected footballers of all Time and sadly, we Will all miss him. Rest in peace, Nduna, we will always remember those special moments you shared with us.” Philip Zulu
