Warriors Afcon preps in top gear

Zimbabwe national soccer team head coach Kalisto Pasuwa has underlined the importance of Sunday’s Afcon qualifier against Guinea at Rufaro stadium.

Despite a chaotic start to preparations for the Guinea encounter South African based players finally joined camp on Wednesday. Patson Jaure, Washington Arubi, Erick Chipeta, Milton Ncube, Kudakwashe Mahachi and Khama Billiat linked up with the local based players that had reported for duty on Tuesday.

Also already in camp is Czech based defender Costa Nhamoinesu who arrived on Tuesday afternoon.

Knowledge Musona who has been in superb form for his Belgian side KV Oostende arrived later in the day as Pasuwa looks to fine tune his side for Sunday’s testing encounter against Guinea.

With only a few days to go for the crucial game against Guinea Kalisto Pasuwa underlined the significance of Sunday’s tie,” We are playing at home we need to do better, and complacency must not creep in. Remember we won in Malawi, if we can win in Malawi it means we can also be beaten in Zimbabwe if we go thinking that it will be easy its one game we really need to be serious about”, Pasuwa said.

Nyasha Mushekwi, Liberty Chakoroma, Willard Katsande and Matthew Rusike are expected to be in camp by Thursday.
