10 Things You Didn’t Know About Trevor Dongo

Trevor Dongo is one of the biggest acts in Zim Urban grooves. Here are some things you might not know about the star that helped shape his career.

1. He rose to fame with a 2004 hit single titled “Ndozviita Seyi” which was the tittle Track to his first Album.

2. The single got him a nomination at the 2005 “Zimbabwe Music Awards”(ZIMA) for the Most Promising Artist Category.

3. In 2006 Trevor Dongo featured on XTRA LARGE’s Album called “Small House”, which was one his early career collaborations.

4. Trevor became part of a boy band along with Nox and Tawanda Mugodhi in 2007 when they got signed to Eternity Productions owned by the Top Producer Macdonald MacDee Chidavaenzi. The group was called “AFROUNIK”.

5. After Afrounik released their first album which was a local success, Trevor went on to release a solo project, dropping a single tittled “Mukoma” in 2008.

6. His second album ‘Ruvarashe’ was released in 2010 with chart topping hits like “Nerunako, Tivanyadzise and Ndapengeswa.

7. Trevor Dongo has performed at the National Sports alongside international acts like Akon and Sean Paul to large crowds.

8. In 2012 he released his 3rd Album titled “First Verse” with hits like “Ndashamisika, No limits and  Musikana Wangu. Ndashamisika went on to become the 2012 Song of the Year on ll local stations.

9. His 2014 single ‘Handisi Kumira was nominated at the “ZIMA AWARDS in the Best Single Category and the Best Video of The Year Category.

10. Trevor recently got married to his longtime model girlfriend and continues to tour across Southern African and Europe.
