Meet 2018 Miss Zimbabwe World

Zimbabwe has a new beauty queen for Miss World Zimbabwe. The finalist is 21-year-old Belinda Potts who is a veterinary science student from Masvingo. Potts was crowned at an event held at Orchid Gardens in Domboshava. She won a luxurious car, $20 000 and booked the sole ticket to represent the country at the 68th edition of Miss World 2018 scheduled for Sanya, China on December 8.

Her runner up was Patricia Muchenje, who took first princess, and Kuziwakwashe Mujakachi doubled her titles with the People’s Choice award and second princess title. The two pocketed $10 000 and $15 000, respectively.

Potts, who has been modelling since she was 16, said she had “something big” lined up, but will save her prize money for now. She revealed plans to invest her time in the agriculture sector. She shared that she already has a project to assist farmers increase the quality of their yields.

Fourteen participants took part in the pageant held under the theme Embracing a Woman a Symbol of Beauty.
