Calvin said although it might appear Cassper is a bigger fan of his his, he’s much a bigger fan and gets inspired by the South African rapper. Aww, we love hearing these two gushing about each other.

The “Zkhupane” rapper said his dream is to inspire others the same way he has been inspired by other artists. “First it has to work for me, I wanna be successful in this path and inspire other people”, he said.

And if you want to get Calvin’s music, you can only get it online. Despite having launched the album in September, the self proclaimed King of rap says people need to catch up with the world’s system. ” I can’t get CDs to Mutare or Rusape but I can put it online where everyone can get it.

Speaking of his genre, Calvin says hip-hop in Zimbabwe is at the back of the pack despite him doing his part to push it. He blames it on marketing and the artists themselves who need to do more. “There’s a lot to be done and there’s a lot that’s been done”, he said.

What are your thoughts on Zimbabwean music going all digital? Do you think it will benefit the artists, is there a strong digital penetration in the Zimbabwean market?
