T.B Joshua To Be Prosecuted For The 116 People Who Died In His Church

Nigeria’s famous Prophet T.B Joshua is set to appear in court over the death of 116 people who died in his church building when it collapsed last year.

T.B Joshua and all the trustees of ‎Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) will appear before a Lagos State High Court in Ikeja over the collapse of a six-story building which happened on September 12, 2014.

A statement by the Deputy Director, Public Affairs of the Lagos State Ministry of Justice, Bola Akingbade, confirmed the scheduled arraignment.

“The trustees and TB Joshua will be arraigned before Justice Lawal Akapo alongside the engineers that constructed the collapsed building”, read the statement.

The engineers had reportedly filed to stop their planned trial but was dismissed by Justice Ibrahim Buba of the Federal High Court in Lagos.

Most of the victims were South African, with one Zimbabwean said to have also lost his life.
