Zimbabwe Ranked 127 out of 170 on The Commonwealth Youth Development Index

Zimbabwe has a large youth demographic and it’s vital that we capitalize on the country’s demographic dividend. The Commonwealth recently released it’s Youth Development Index (YDI) which measures the status of 15-29 year-olds in 170 countries according to five key domains: Education, Health and Well-being, Employment, Civic Participation and Political Participation. YDI scores range from 0-1, 0 being the lowest youth development and 1 the highest. Zimbabwe fared off at 127 out of 170 which considering our economic challenges is not all too negative if vested focus is putΒ  into developing the Zimbabwean youth. South Africa came at 100, Nigeria at 140 and Botswana 105. Comparing apples with apples we not bad at all!
