Zim play Afghanistan in do or die encounter

The Zimbabwe cricket team will today play Afghanistan in a must win encounter. The Chevrons currently trail Afghanistan 2-1 in the 5 match series making Monday’s encounter crucial for Dav Whatmore and his team.

Zimbabwe won the third one-day international by 117 runs and Whatmore will be hoping his side maintains the positive momentum. Victory would see Zimbabwe level the series at 2 all while defeat would see the Chevrons sink to an all time low of losing to an Associate member in two consecutive series.

Hamilton Masakadza will be a key batsman for Zimbabwe after top scoring with 83 runs on Saturday. Also looking to build on Saturday’s performance is bowler Luke Jongwe who took a maiden 5 wicket haul at the weekend.
