CeSHHAR Zimbabwe wishes to recruit 4 ambitious and driven research assistants (RA) to assist with economic cost data (resource use data, facility costs, and patient costs) collection.

Duties and responsibilities:

Candidates should be able to work as part of a team. The role will involve data collection (interviews and record review), cleaning and formatting, entering data, and any other duties as assigned.

Specific tasks are to:

  • Collect and record resource use data.
  • Source and assign unit cost data.
  • Collect patient level data and patient costs through interviews with sex workers.
  • Maintain proper documentation on all data collection forms
  • Data cleaning and formatting.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Coordinator

Qualifications and experience:

This is a great opportunity if you have a genuine interest in enhancing your knowledge and skills in economic evaluation methods such as cost effectiveness analysis. Successful candidates should have an appreciation of cost effectiveness analysis, other economic evaluation method and/or public health research with a strong familiarity with HIV/AIDS. Requisite qualifications and skills are:

  • Qualification in health economics, economics, econometrics, pharmaco-economics, public health or other relevant discipline.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in economic evaluation of public health programmes in general and HIV and AIDS prevention and treatment programs in particular.
  • Basic MS Excel and Word competence.
  • Outstanding communication and writing skills in English.
  • Current GCP and Ethics training certificate an added advantage.
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations (sex workers) is an added advantage.
  • Fluency in English, Shona and Ndebele.
