DeMbare, Cranborne Bullets square off in friendly

By Geronimo News

Harare giants Dynamos are set for a friendly clash against Cranborne Bullets as the Blue Train continues to gauge its strength ahead of the forthcoming 2023 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season.

The two topflight sides whose pre-season preparations have been in an overdrive since mid last month will exchange blows at Rusape’s Vengere Stadium on Saturday.

The Glamour Boys have so far played a series of friendly matches with several teams including new boys Sheasham United and lower division outfit Mabvuku United as part of coach Herbert Maruwa’s concerted efforts to fine tune his squad.

Following a bloodbath at the Blue Army, DeMbare have brought in several players into their fold hence the move by the new trainer to have more friendlies so as to beautifully knit his squad.

With the issue of testing more combinations being the core business during these aforementioned matches, such games will also help players quickly get into the groove and keep shape before the league commences.

Of the friendly matches that the Mbare based side have played so far, the results have been so welcoming and it is hoped that the same will happen when the championship race begins, probably in March.

The Glamour Boys finished third behind champions FC Platinum and Chicken in that order last season hence Maruwa is thus expected to improve from that performance and even guide the team to league glory.

DeMbare have fallen short of the league title since 2014 when Callisto Pasuwa guided them to their 4th successive crown in dramatic fashion.
