Tuku and Jah Prayzah Nominated for SAMAs

Tuku and Jah Prayzah are nominated for the 2017 South African Music Awards.

The two Zimbabwean superstars appeared on the nominations list after the prestigious awards released this year’s nominees. The legend and fast rising pop star are both nominated in the ‘Best African category’. They are nominated alongside Nigerian dancehall star Patoranking, Vee Mampeezy and Vuyo  Katsha in the same category.

Jah Prayzah recently collaborated with South African legends, Mafikizolo on the DJ Maphorisa produced hit ‘Sendekera’. In 2016 Jah Prayzah earned himself continental recognition on his collaboration with Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz for the hit ‘Watora Mari’. In turn he won an MTV Base Africa award.

Tuku has been previously nominated for the SAMAs in 2002 for ‘Best Traditional/African Adult Contemporary DVD’ and in 2010 in  recognition of his late son’s achievements in music.

The South African Music Awards will be held in Sun City on the 27th of May 2017.
