1. Cold weather can make you sick

You have had your mother or grandmother tell you to put on something warm otherwise you will catch a cold. The fact is that you only  get hypothermia.

2. Feed a cold and starve a fever

The saying is inaccurate is to stay hydrated and eat when you feel like eating.

3. My pet gave me the flu

There are a few illnesses that can pass between animals and humans, but you won’t catch a cold or the flu from your pet. If you find yourself feeling a little irritated then maybe you are allergic to your pet.

4. Vitamin C will cure or prevent the common cold

We all have been told to have citrus fruits to prevent colds. Although vitamin C is good for your body, it doesn’t really work towards curbing colds.

5. You should stay in bed all day

When you have a cold or flu, you are often advised to stay in bed and rest. Although this is good advice, get some exercise. By being active you help yourself feel better.
