Herentals Queens hammer Faithdrive Academy
Herentals Queens massacred Faithdrive Academy FC in an exciting contest at Motor Action Sports Club.
After a rather cagey start to the contest it was Herentals Queens who opened the scoring as early as the 9th minute when Nyasha Munemo’s long range effort was spilt by Faithdrive goalminder Lindiwe Magwede before an alert Melanda Rungu slotted home from close range.
A few minutes later Melanda Rungu would then turn from goalscorer to provider when she sent in an inviting cross which was firmly hit home by Ruvimbo Gasva at the backpost.
Herentals Queens continued to pour players forward with Preynance Zvawanda exhibiting some nifty footwork before picking out Melanda Rungu who sent in a first time ball that was tapped home by Polite Mabika.
With Herentals 3 nil to the good and in the driving seat, Faithdrive then awoke from their slumber when Bethel Kondo won possession on the right hand side before releasing an incisive ball into the path of Maud Mufurise who pulled a goal back for the visitors.
A few moments after pulling a goal back Faithdrive were back in the game when Maud Mufurise picked out Shylene Dambamuromo who cooly slotted home a second for the visitors.
Herentals Queens then put some sting out of Faithdrive’s comeback aspirations when Melanda Rungu netted home a rebound.
Preynance Zvawanda would then outpace her opponents before grabbing a 5th for Herentals Queens. In typical goal poachers fashion, Praynance Zvawanda would again show alertness in beating her opponents to the ball before sealing a brace as Herentals Queens walked away 6-2 victors.
