Top 5 Reasons Why Macheso Gets Emotional On Stage

On some occasions, Alick Macheso has break down on stage in front of fans as he belted out an emotional  song ”Baba” from his current album ”Tsoka Dzerwendo” and as he let himself dig in to the song, his emotions becomes clear, even to the point of tears. Check out these ten reasons why Macheso gets emotional on stage below…

1. The song is about the hardships that single mothers in poor communities and their children face. Macheso was raised in a similar situation and he has shown his strong feelings against divorce through songs like ”Zvimiro”, ”Mai Varubhi” and ”Chara Chimwe”, yet none of the tracks brought him to tears on stage.

2. Macheso apparently sang the song for his father whom he only met once when he was six years old and would hardly recognize if they were to meet today.

3. He grew up with his mother and grandmother. He had to adopt his mother’s surname because everyone around him seemed to know that they would be no attachment between father and son.

4. Growing up what he knew was that he  was growing up like an orphan when his father was alive and  his mother was always doing her best to make him happy although he could notice she was going through hard times.

5. Whenever he play the song ‘Baba’ the mood of the show changes and he also notice that some people in the crowd get touched. Many people have gone through such situations and it is always painful to recall some of the circumstances.
