1 Bath toys These can develop moulds and algae as they are constantly in water. Rinse them with clean water and dry them in the washing line in a wire mesh. Sunlight is a good natural sanitizer.

2 Shower sponges

You must change them regurlaly as they are an ideal breeding ground for bacteria. You must rinse shower sponges after every use. If they develop moulds or have a nasty smell pop then into your washing machine at high temperature.

3 Disposable razors.

The shaving lotion and dead skin cells trapped in the blades can breed bacteria and infect your hair follicles the next time you shave thereby causing a rash. Soak your disposable razor in hot water after every use, dry and keep in a cool place

4 Dishcloths and napkins.

These collect food residue, warmth and moisture. These elements are ideal for bacteria to grow. Wash your dishtowels and napkins after each use, dry tem and iron.

5 Toothbrushes

These can contain virus that causes nose and throat infections. Change your toothbrush after every three months.

6 Plastic containers

These can develop bacteria even when placed in the freezer with food. Wash them in hot soapy water after use.

7 Chopping board.

It is used to cut unwashed vegetables and raw meat that at times contain salmonella. Make sure that you wash your chopping board well and if you see deep gourges in your plastic board do get rid of it.

8 Reusable shopping bags

They also carry raw meats and earthy vegetables front the markets. Recycle them.

9 Computer keyboard

May contain germs such as staphylococcus aureus whxh causes diarrhoea. Shake off crumbs from your keyboard every evening and wipe with a damp cloth regurlaly.

10 Microwave

This is the home of germs and bacteria if not properly cleaned. Wipe away splatters with cleaner and ensure that it stays dry on the inside.
