Zimbabwe Music Awards (ZIMA) Nominations Now Open

The Zimbabwe Music Awards nomination entries are now open. Artists can submit between now and the 7th of August which is the closing date.

All artists are encouraged by the organization to submit their music which was released between August 6 2014 and August 6 of the awards.

“Last year we witnessed an overwhelming response to our call and we expect that this year will be no different. We have seen a number of artists releasing across genres releasing quality and we are really excited about the depth that we will have for the 2015 edition”, said the ZIMA marketing and public relations executive Farai Chapotera.

The organization admits to having problems but they have never made an excuse about it. “Our main goals have been and will always be to assure our artists and sponsors and all stakeholders that we maintain a clean and transparent selection and adjudication criteria which really are the backbone of any awards ceremony”, she said.

Exciting news for those involved in music who are not artists, ZIMA has added a new category that will award music journalists for their work in bringing Zimbabwean music into the limelight.
