Schools To Close On July 26

As announced earlier by his excellency E Mnangagwa, elections will be held on the 30th of July. The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has then set 26 July as the date that schools close. This is to make way for the elections as schools are being used as polling stations.

Speaking to The Chronicle, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, Dr Sylvia Utete-Masango, confirmed schools will close on Thursday, July 26 with the Third Term now starting a week earlier on September 4.

Schools were supposed to close on August 9 but will now be closing earlier because of the harmonised elections set for July 30. The Third Term was scheduled to start on September 11.
