Fans who were expecting Davido will be disappointed to know that he will not be performing at Jah Prayzah’s album launch. The Nigerian superstar was scheduled to perform alongside Jah Prayzah at his ‘Kutonga Kwaro’ album launch today.
The ‘If’ hitmaker is currently helping Nigerian police with investigations following the death of his crew member, Tagbo Umeike. Umeike passed away after he was rushed and dumped at the Lagos Island General Hospital. Two other people were also reported to have been found dead in a car.
Jah Prayzah has since released a statement, which stated that Davido will issue an official statement as soon as possible and also announce a new date for a “My Lilly” concert. In addition to apologizing to fans, Jah Prayzah reassured fans that the Kutonga Kwaro album launch and the concert will go on.
In Davido’s place, the legend Oliver Mtukudzi and gaffa king, Winky D will be slated for the concert. The launch of Jah Prayzah’s eighth album will be held at the Harare International Conference Centre on Friday 13 October. $20 tickets will allow attendees can redeem $10 as a drinks voucher or bring a plus one.
