Zimdancehall artist caged for raping a minor.

Zimdancehall artist Joseph Mutamba commonly known as Chigudo will languish in remand prison for the next couple of weeks following a denial of bail by Harare magistrate Victoria Mashamba. The artist is being charged with raping a 14 year old minor. It is the state case that Chigudo invited the girl to his room on 27 November 2019. He then asked her to sweep his room. He briefly went out of the room but came back and locked the door from the inside.

Chigudo produced a knife and threatened his victim to comply with his instructions. He asked her to drink some liquid substance that was in a glass, forced her to smoke some marijuana that he was smoking and further ordered her to lie on his bed where he undressed her and raped her. Chigudo further threatened the girl. As soon as he had finished ravishing the young girl, the girl’s mother knocked on his door and enquired about her whereabouts. Chigudo had shoved the girl into his wadrobe.

The mother sensed a rat and started rainsacking the house where she found her daughter stacked in the wardrobe. The girl narrated the whole ordeal leading to the arrest of Chigudo. Chigudo was remanded to 14 January 2020 and advised to apply for bail at the High court. Chigudo is well known in zimdancehall circles. If convicted,he faces a lenghty jail term.
