Top 10 Zimdancehall Artists of 2017

Zimdancehall still continues to be the biggest genre in Zimbabwe. In 2017 alone, the music fraternity brought on some of the biggest anthems of the year. With that said we toast to another great year in Zimdancehall. Check out the top Zimdancehall artists of 2017 below.

Souljah Luv

Souljah Luv introduced ‘Pamamonya Ipapo’ which has become one of the most used term in urban lingo. He then came with ‘Zvinhu’ a self empowerment track about never doubting one self. It then makes sense why he won King of the dancehall and Song of the Year at the Zimdancehall Awards.

Killer T

Killer T made boss moves in 2017. He became the first Zimdancehall artist to go digital with his music. He represented Zimbabwe in the UK where he clinched an interview on BBC 1 radio. Apart from his smash hit Bvunza Tinzwe he was pat if the hottest collaboration if they year. He and Ex Q teamed up on ‘Nhema’ one of the biggest songs of the year.

Freeman

The HKD boss continued to take over 2017 track after track. His track with Ex Q Jerusarema was used by DSTV for it’s promotions. He was also one of the selected celebrities used for clothing brand Jan Jam.

Winky D

From the NAMAS to the Zimdancehall Awards, the Gafa king stayed winning. Winky D collaborated with Jamaican star Been Beenie Man on the track My Woman.

Seh Calaz

Boss Yala had a great support for his music. He sold a copy of his album for a large sum of money.

Ninja Lipsy

Ninja Lipsy did he best to broaden her music horizons. She teamed up with Reverb7 and Tkae Chidz on the Afro House track, Tamba Tamba. She also featured on a female collaboration against domestic violence. She ended the year with a track with a track titled ‘Kedhu Keke’ featuring Juwela and Faceless.

Buffalo Souljah

The South African based dancehall king had a good year. He released a star studded EP. His collaboration with Winky D on Rugare earned him Awards and a place on the Coca-Cola Top 50 videos.

Nutty O

The Military Touch Movement dancehall star rode in with Bugatti. He continued with collaborations with his other MTM members. He released ‘Let’s talk about it’ with Ex Q as well as a remix with Hillzy.

Boom Betto

The term ‘kudonhedza musika‘ came into pop culture after Boom Betto released their smash hit ‘Kudonhedza Musika’.

Sniper Storm

Sniper Storm made his come back in 2017. He released his album ‘Shoot’ and had a successful track ‘Tsvigiri Muhuchi’.
