Rusike resurfaces at Caps United

By Geronimo News

Zimbabwean national Tafadzwa Rusike has retraced his roots back to his former club Caps United were he is currently training.

The left footed footballer is without a club since leaving Zambian Super League outfit Zesco United upon the expiry of his contract last year.

Although the news of his next destination is not yet clear it is highly likely that the experienced attacker will sign for Makepekepe should he impress the Lloyd Chitembwe-led technical team.

Confirming the developments, the Green Machine team manager Shakespeare Chinogwenya had this to say: “Yes, Tafadzwa is training with the club. This is his second week training with us.”

With the 2023 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season fast approaching it remains to be seen whether Rusike would be offered a contract at Caps United or he it is just training and has other plans.

The 33-year-old attacker made a name for himself while still at Makepekepe between 2008 and 2010 before moving to South African side Ajax Cape Town, now defunct in 2010.

Rusike would spend three seasons in South Africa before returning home in 2014 where he joined cross-town rivals Dynamos.

He then moved to Angola where he turned out for Progresso Sambizanga the following year, rejoined Caps for a second spell in 2016 and then moved to Zambia in 2017.

Should the former Warriors international, who has returned home again, makes the grade at the Lloyd Chitembwe coached side, he will be joining the Green Army for a third stint.
