Gilmore Tee to host South African Menswear Week AW 2018

Zimbabwean media and fashion personality, Gilmore Tee has jetted off to Cape Town where he is set host the South African Menswear Week Autumn/Winter collections this year. The event is being held at the Cape Town City Hall from the 8th till the 10th of February in South Africa.

Gilmore who is also a Mandela Washington Fellow, has fast grown through TV as a host for pan-African conversational show, Thatha Wena and the newly Radio Host position with South Africa’s Cliff Central, is one of the most followed fashion personalities in Zimbabwe who has facilitated for a lot of designers to showcase at different platforms across the globe, including the recent Mozambique Fashion Week, Durban Fashion Fair, amongst many.

It is such an honour to be in South Africa for the menswear week. I am looking forward to being the voice of the event for the next 3 days. I am also excited to share my knowledge through the workshops to be held during the fashion week” – expressed Gilmore Tee

South African Menswear Week is Africa’s only stand-alone platform dedicated to the development and promotion of menswear within the African continent. Taking place twice a year in Cape Town, South Africa, SAMW aims to provide a world-class platform for menswear designers and brands to showcase their latest collections. A series of shows over three days, only the best of menswear is invited to be on the schedule each session.

The goal is to be the leading platform in terms of innovation, trends, production and most importantly, the promotion of our designers. It’s about building credibility for the platform that will enable designers to grow their business.

Designers from across the African continent, will be showcasing in their number at this years event, featuring Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, South Africa and even a guest designer from the USA, amongst many.
