10 Zim Celebs Who Have Had Trouble With the Law

When it comes to the law, no one is above it, usually. Many celebrities have found themselves in trouble with the law for one thing or another. From traffic offenses to serious crimes and at times being wrongfully accused, there have been a few celebs who have seen the four walls of a jail cell. Others have been taken to court, having had to pay bail as well as legal fees. Some cases fans have sympathised, whilst others have felt that the public figures should be more law abiding. Andy Muridzo

Andrew Ngwenya better known as Andy Muridzo is the latest celebrity to get into trouble with the law. He was recently arrested for a traffic offence. He was charged with causing an accident which involved three cars. Muridzo does not have a licence which is a big offence in Zimbabwe.

Stunner

Desmond Chideme a.k.a Stunner got himself into trouble. The flamboyant rapper completed 210 hours of community service for negligent driving.

Tererai Mugwadi

Another traffic law offender is singer Tererai Mugwadi. Teri is no stranger to trouble in both her personal and public life. The singer still has a pending case for culpable homicide and negligent driving. The singer was accused of driving under the influence which caused an accident in which an individual lost their life.

Wicknell

According to the media, Wicknell has been arrested; according to Wicknell, those are lies. Well the controversial businessman has found himself making headlines for illegal activities including fraud.

Roki

Everybody’s favourite free spirit, Rockford Josphat has had his fair share of trouble with the law. Roki has been taken to court for maintenance infringement, arrested for possession of illegal drugs as well as assault and battery.

Acie Lumumba

William Mutumanje has a penchant for trouble with local authorities. The controversial politician has been arrested and tried for crimes that include fraud and for coup remarks. The 29 year old politicians recently found himself in court for allegedly fraud.

Fungisai Zvavakapano

And who says that a woman of the word can do no wrong. Gospel singer Fungisai has found herself in trouble with the law. In 2017, she was accused of negligent driving.

Pastor Evan Mawarire

Prior to the new dispensation in Zimbabwe, religious leader and activist, Pastor Evan Mawarire experienced the law. He was arrested several times and charged for undermining the former president and government.

Dudu Manhenga

Beloved Afro jazz musician Dudu Manhenga was an example for a lot of people who drive without a licence. She was charged, tried and even sentenced for an accident which led to the death of an individual. He sentence was however suspended, including the fact that she won’t be on the drivers seat for a very long time.

Energy Mutodi

The businessman cum musician found himself being charged for coup remarks. He was in and out of jail for political reasons as well as alleged unscrupulous business dealings.
