Hadebe finally makes MLS debut

Zimbabwe international Teenage Hadebe finally made his debut for new club Houston Dynamo in the United States Major League top-tier.

The Warriors defender who was in the starting eleven for coach Tab Ramos’ charges helped his team record a clean sheet for the first time since May 13 when they edged Sporting KC 1-0 at home.

The Texas-based club which is in the Western Conference dueled to a goalless draw with Vancouver Whitecaps at the Rio Tinto Stadium this morning (Wednesday).

After putting up a decent show at his new home, the 25-year-old Zimbabwean said he is looking forward to a fruitful tenure in the United States as he looks to help his team improve.

“I would like to thank the team for helping to acclimatise quickly and to settle in. I know I am not 100% fit but with time coupled with perseverance and hard work, I will get there. I promise to bring the best out of me and be the best defender in this league and beyond,” Hadebe said.

Hadebe joined the MLS side Houston Dynamo in June when he penned a three-year deal which will see him at the club through the 2023 season with an option to renew.

The Warriors defender completed the move from Turkish Super Lig side Yeni Malatyaspor where he spent two seasons with the club making 53 appearances, scoring twice.

On the international stage, Hadebe has 30 caps for Zimbabwe since making his debut for the country on November 16, 2014 in the Warriors 0-1 loss to Morocco in a friendly tie.
