Zim Fashion Designer Farai Simoyi Features In Essence

USA based Zimbabwean fashion designer Farai Simoyi features in Essence. Under the ‘Boutique Boss’ feature, the celebrity designer is interviewed for her boutique T.N.T Concept Store.

In the interview she shares her passion for fashion and promoting African designers in the diaspora. Boss Boutique is about black female entrepreneurs who are independent shop owners so as to promote black businesses.

The boutique is located in Brooklyn, New York. T.N.T Concept Store was opened in 2017 to highlight global brands and master artisans in contemporary and luxury design.

Farayi has been designing and consulting for celebrity fashion houses like Beyoncé’s clothing line House of Dereon, Jay-Z’s Rocawear, The Nicki Minaj Collection, and Rachel Roy.

This feature in America’s biggest magazine for black women is a big deal for Simoyi. She shared on her social media:

When you commit yourself to the growth of others, there’s a responsibility there. Nothing to take for granted and nothing to take lightly. It’s an honor to be featured in Essence for the work we are doing with @TheNarativ & @TNTConceptStore. My desire to build these 2 companies was to find a way to successfully bring global brands, especially brands from Africa, into the U.S. market while also providing a physical retail space for us to launch and sell their products. It’s never easy when you are building something that people don’t understand but sometimes all you need is just a handful of confidants or a Mag like @Essence ? that believe in what you’re doing and rooting for you to win ??. Thank you @yolizama for this amazing feature and for believing in me and to @hannansaleh for the lovely photos!
