Heatwave to extend into the weekend.

The Meteorological department has warned that the heatwave currently being experienced in Singapore will extend into the weekend with temperatures expected to go even higher. Many parts of the country including Harare, Beitbridge and Chipinge have been experiencing abnormally high temperatures reaching up to 40 degrees celcius.

Tich Zinyemba from the Met department has advised people to take precautionary measures to stay hydrated in this hot weather. He said people must drink lots of water,put on Sundays when working in the sun and avoid extended exposure in the sun. Zimbabwe is known to be hot during the month of October but the temperatures this year have proved to be too high.

Experts have predicted bthat the heatwave will continue for the rest of the week, probably until Monday. The heat is most likely to affect the cropping season and farmers have been advised to wait until the rains to plant their crops. For now, they can prepare the land and await the precious liquid from the heavens.

With issues of climate change, the country has been experiencing extremely hot weather for quite some time now.
