Pauline is doing very well in 2014 a lot of growth happen this year.

What has made this year so defferent?

I enrolled at music crossroads and being there I have learnt about my strengths, my weaknesses and the enviroment is very fruitful for an artist to be around because you are always learning and you get to apply whatever you are learning.

Do you write your own songs?

I write my own songs, the last time I had someone write content for me was when I was working fulltime with Mafriq. I still work part time with Mafriq and a lot of those songs are written by artists within the group like Rockie.

What do you like about fame?

I like when I am announced on stage and people are screaming. I like it when you get preferential treatment like in restaurants.

If you were given the opportunity to work with any artist in the world who would it be?

I would love to do a song with Rihanna, I like her style haha, I would also like to do a song with Damian Marley aswell.

When would you say you entered the music industry?

When I was in form 3 is when I started performing and I performed at the Miss Harare. I started recording when I was 16.

Which High School did you go to?

I went to the Dominican Convent.

What have you learnt about persuing your dream?

If you really believe in something do it. Plan and focus, f you fail to plan you plan to fail. You can not expect success on a silver plata.

While watching the cable music channels (i.e Channel O, Mtv Base and Trace) I noticed it’s rare you bump into a Zimbabwean music video, what do you thing is causing this?

Some of it is protocol. Theres is certain followership they need from you because they are not going to play a nice video that does not have local support. I feel that the local media is letting us down and artists that are coming up are taking the same route  Oliver and his generation took which is through festivals. We are in 2014 by the way, our media needs to step up.

What brand do you think matches your persona?

I think Coca-cola because they are fun and they also very serious like on a global stage.

Any advice to upcoming artists?

My advice would be push your own stuff, work with the internet. It’s crazy how our music destribution structures are. I don’t know why they don’t want to invest in us because in other countries music is earning a large percentage of the GDP.

Any words of wisdom to the youth of Zimbabwe?

Put God first because he has a plan for you. We all have strengths and weaknesses. Your strengths can lead you to a certain place, your weaknesses lead you to a certain place but God will show which decision is right.
