John Legends joins 2016 BBC Music Awards line up

John Legend has joined the line up for this year’s BBC Music Awards, which will take place on December 12 at London’s ExCel Centre. John Legend is to perform at the 2016 BBC Music Awards.

The ‘Ordinary People’ hitmaker – who has seven-month-old daughter Luna with his wife Chrissy Teigen – is thrilled to have been added to the line up, which includes Robbie Williams, The 1975 and Craig David, and can’t wait to perform songs from his new album ‘Darkness and Light’, which is released on Friday (02.12.16).

He said: “I’m so excited to introduce my new album to all of my wonderful fans in the U.K. and coming back in December to perform at the BBC Music Awards!”

The ceremony, which is held at London’s ExCeL centre on December 12, will also see the likes of the Kaiser Chiefs, Zara Larsson, Lukas Graham and Emeli Sande performing.

Meanwhile, the broadcaster has also chosen the shortlist for the inaugural BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge Performance of the Year Award.

The nominees are Christine and the Queens, ‘Sorry’, Craig David, ‘Love Yourself’ by Justin Bieber, Emeli Sande’s ‘Hurts’, The 1975’s Live Lounge Symphony for One Direction’s ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ and Usher’s ‘Climax’.

Michael Buble was chosen to present the ceremony, however, he was forced to pull out after learning his three-year old son Noah has cancer.

BBC Music director Bob Shannon said: “We send Michael and his family our very best wishes.”
