Jah Prayzah, Ammara Brown Nominated for 2018 AFRIMA
Jah Prayzah, Ammara Brown and Ex Q are proof that hard work goes a long way. Apart from being the most commercial Zimbabwean artists, the three are the biggest exports on the continent. The trio have individually been nominated in the regional categories at the 2018 All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA).
All three are already nominees for the US based diaspora award, AFRIMMA. Ammara Brown is nominated for the 2018 Zimbabwe Women’s Awards (ZIWA). For the AFRIM, both Military Touch Movement members, Ex Q and Jah Prayzah are nominated in the ‘Best Male Artist in Southern Africa’.
Ammara is nominated in the Best Female Artist in Southern Africa category. The barefoot goddess is up against some of the biggest female artists in the region including, South Africans Babes Wodumo, Shekhinah, Nadia Nakai and Rouge. Other nominees are Lily (Malawi), Mandisa Mamba (Swaziland), and Ruby the Pigeon – (Namibia).
The three whose hit songs were nominated were among over 8,000 entries. A total of 79 songs made it to the regional nominees list. The 5th AFRIMA is scheduled to hold in November 2018.
