Star FM Music Awards In the Cards

Zimbabwean radio stations are taking over the awards scene soon. After announcing the Power FM Avion Awards, Star FM follows suit. According to the station’s General Manager Radio Division, Comfort Mbofana, “The Star FM Music Awards seek to honour our Zimbabwean Musicians and Legends and give value to our corporate partners through the most glamorous event that is uniquely Zimbabwean.”

The Awards are scheduled for 25 January 2019 at Zimbali Gardens. Check out the categories below:

Best African Pop Song Best Gospel Song
Best Sungura Song Best New Artist Song
Best Duo/Group Song Best Male Artist Song
Best Zimdancehall Song Best Female Artist Song
Best Hip Hop Song Best Collaboration
Best RnB Song Best Producer
Best House Song Best Album of the year
Best Song by a Zimbabwean Living in the Diaspora Song of the year

The criteria for all entries is music that has been played on Star FM radio from the 1st of January 2018 to the 9th of December 2018. Nominees will be asked to send in their entries between 30 November and 9 December 2018.

The nominees will be announced through a Facebook live stream.
