Uzalo’s Nelisa Mchunu leaves viewers teary with emotional scene

Nelisa Mchunu who plays Fikile on Uzalo recently had viewers reaching for a box of tissues with a sad and emotional scene. The sultry actress who plays Fikile, a gold digging saloon lady, had people in tears portraying the role of a woman left high and dry with an unwanted pregnancy.

The bubbly and cheerful Fikile looked gloomy and worn out as she spoke to her unborn baby. She revealed just how much she had been negligent and that the pregnancy had been unplanned. She also laments the bad luck in her life after failing to secure a rich man to take care of her needs. She had, instead, opted to give her heart to a poor man with virtually no goals or prospects of making it in life. To worsen the situation, he has done a runner when she informed him about the pregnancy.

Fikile emotionally reached out to her baby and said she had no idea how she was going to take care of her child. Fans flooded the Uzalo Instagram page with messages of hope for Fikile. Others advised her that what the baby really needed was love first before material things.

Uzalo is one of the most popular soapie on SABC 1. It is aired at 8.30 pm during weekdays. Mchunu is one of the longest serving actresses on the show. Although her relationship with her dreadlocked boyfriend passed off as that of Bonnie and Clyde it seems the pregnancy put both of them to the test leaving one partner having to bear the burden of carrying a pregnancy that was not planned. It remains to be seen whether Fikile will get through this difficult situation.
