Three ingredient goodness

Food is the essence of life. It is the basis of human survival. For most people good food is a daily requirement. However there is a grave misconception that  delicious food can only be achieved by the use of expensive ingredients. A few fresh ingredients can be whipped up into an amazing meal. Indeed simplicity at times is the best way to live.

Several recipes have been formulated in a bid to come up with the most scrumptious delicacies. However these  three ingredient recipes will leave guests smacking their lips and asking for more. Easy brownies can be done using only eggs, flour and Nutella. They are moist, delicious and super easy to make.

Another favourite treat, macaroni and cheese can be made using pasta shells, milk and cheddar cheese. The usual methods of cooking apply but substituting most ingredients for these three brings amazing results
For the perfect tomato sauce just place some onions in butter and add fresh tomatoes and before you know it you have a great sauce to accompany pasta.

Pancakes are a also a great breakfast treat and can be made using eggs, flour and milk. These can be served topped with fresh fruit if you wish. Although what appeals to one’s palette may not be desirable to another, these simple and quick recipes are worth a try. A  delicious soft dessert would be a great way to round off meals and nothing comes short of a three ingredient homemade ice cream. This is made by blending frozen bananas, condensed milk and a sprinkling of toasted nuts of your choice. Similarly a cool summer sorbet can be made by using orange juice, some sugar and a pinch of salt.

The kitchen is indeed a place to explore new ideas and let out one’s creativity. Preparing cuisines from different places also brings people together and promotes unity. Traditional Zimbabwean meals such as cooking rice with peanut butter and then adding a little honey are also worth trying out. The popular dish of mutakura can be done by simply mixing together roundnuts, corn and groundnuts and boling them with a some salt until they are well cooked.

Fresh mealies can be rejuvenated by adding some butter and salt or even spices such as cayenne pepper and paprika and then roasting them on open fire to get a smoky  earthy taste. Great, simple food is the epitome of fine dining and a person can be their own chef by trying out these simple but classy cooking ideas.
