Zbc’s refreshing musical show

Mentioning ZBC Tv often sparks negative criticism given the numerous challenges the television station has had to grapple with following drastic reforms effected by Professor Jonathan Moyo in the post 2000 era. Although there have been attempts to come up with solutions to enhancing programme quality, a lot of investment will be required to turn around the organizations television station.

In the midst of the lack of quality, the programme entitled “Power Sessions” which is broadcast on Sunday’s at 19:00hrs has brought a breath of fresh air on the screens of local viewers. In the show top musical artists are invited for an interview done by a Power Fm dj, as well as being given a platform to perform with a live band.

The quality of the visuals have been particularly striking while an interview with a top artist gives music lovers an opportunity of getting closer to their music  heroes. To date power sessions has featured artists such as Enzo Ishall, Nutty O, Tammy Moyo and Cindy Munyavi.

The most exciting part of the show is the performance of an artist behind a live band which brings a different feel to a prominent song. The production is brought to ZBC TV courtesy of Ngoda productions with Buttler Nhepure the producer of the show while Rumbidzayi Moyo is the Executive Producer. While the national broadcaster is often criticized for poor quality productions, products such as Power Sessions  provide a beacon of hope for television viewers that yearn to see improved programming on ZBC TV.
