Selmor Mtukudzi still grieving over her father’s death.

Zimbabwean singer Selmor Mtukudzi recently opened up about her struggle to let go of her father’s passing on. In a recent Instagram post she said that she was still in grief particularly when she perfomed or rehearsed her lae father’s song titled Seiko.

Selmor posted a video of herself rehearsing for the upcoming Tuku concert. She then said she would always remember her father though his music. She wrote,” Everytime I sing this song i always make a little prayer asking God to help me through it. Makes me cry all the time. I love it”. She was making reference to the song Seiko.

Selmor has taken over the reigns since the passing on of er father early this year. She has been staging concert after concert in remembrance of the late musical giant. She was recently on an international tour to promote her father’s legacy. She has patnered with her father’s band including Piki Kasamba to relive the Tuku music experience.

There were tensions between Selmor and Daisy, the wife of the late Oliver Mtukudzi with regards to his music legacy with each party claiming succession and rights. Selmor, however,emerged as the people’s own favorite candidate of choice. She was heavily endorsed. She is clearly doing a great job in preserving her father’s legacy and as she usually says, “Tuku music lives on”.

Selmor is married to Tendai Manatse who supports her all the time and is also a singer himself.
