Lumumba and Zimuto’s controversial nude

A nude pic of Acie Lumumba and Vimbai Zimuto at the weekend raised furore as it left many wondering about its authenticity. Zimbabweans in Sunday woke up to a nude which showed the upper bodies of the two who appear not wearing anything.

The pic however emerged to be a marketing gimmic given that Lumumba on Sunday went on to have a one on one interview with Zimuto on the popular facebook show titled the Lumumba files. Zimuto flew all the way from the Netherlands to have the interview with Lumumba, illustrating how much financial muscle the Lumumba files show has established.

Zimuto has in recent weeks been subject to much attention after a flurry of nude pics appeared on social media. The images of Zimuto naked sparked debate with regards to her values when reflecting her Zimbabwean roots which appear sensitive to how one needs to conduct themself. Zimuto who is a prominent musician however disputes the Zimbabwean tradition notion arguing our great grand mothers use to move around semi naked.

In the interview with Lumumba, Zimuto who appears on the show with an extremely short pink mini-skirt engages in a conversation with Lumumba about her music. Zimuto gave credit to the great work of Oliver Mutukudzi who she happened to work with during the infancy of her music career.

Nudity appears a sensitive issue in Zimbabwean society which in most cases shuns those that appear naked. In recent years there has been the emergence of many acts of nudity with a number of sex tapes leaking on social media. Stunner and Pokello is a popular one while another featuring Tinopona Katsande also sparked controversy resulting in Katsande eventually losing her job at ZiFm.
