Olinda and Tytan reach out to flood victims

Following a heartfelt plea by local musician Jah prayzah for people to assist victims of the Idai cyclone that hit some areas of the country, Olinda Chapel and husband Tytan made some donations.

These included diapers, clothes and a lot of of other neccesities. The goods were given through the Olinda Chapel foundation. Jah Prayzah extended his gratitude for the Goodwill gesture displayed by Olinda Chapel and husband Tytan.

Most people commended the couple for showing empathy and others have already started pledging things including money and clothes as a follow up to the couple’s gesture. Olinda has always been a humanitarian at heart. Just last week she pleaded with the nation to set up crowd fund for Parirenyatwa hospital following a tour of the hospital by the health minister which revealed pathetic operating conditions.

The move by Olinda and Tytan has had a ripple effect and most people have been encouraged to assist the flood victims. Chimanimani hotel has opened up its doors to all the people affected by the flooding.

Mdc leader Nelson Chamisa also visited the affected areas and offered some help. The president has also cut short his visit to the United Arab Emirates in order to come a day deal with the crisis which has been declared a state of disaster

Cyclone Idai destroyed houses, roads, bridges and over 80 people lost their lives. Areas most hit include Chimanimani and Chipinge. Other Zimbabweans in the diaspora have also been making enquiries on how to send their donations

Econet wireless has also joined in on the movement and is collecting donations.
Local fresh produce distributor Fresh in box is moving around and collecting donations in Harare and delivering them at crisis collection centres.

Jah prayzah is keeping the nation updated on the progress made thus far with regards to donations.
